Agriculture Legislative Appreciation Reception
An Agriculture Legislative Appreciation Reception was held recently at the Kentucky State University Research and Demonstration Farm. This reception was sponsored by Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts; Kentucky Corn Growers Association; Kentucky Soybean Association; Kentucky Cattlemen's Association; Kentucky Pork Producers Association; Farm Credit Services of Mid-America; Kentucky Poultry Federation; KSU College of Agriculture, Food Science and Sustainable Systems; Purchase of Agriculture Easements Board; Kentucky Dairy Development Council; Kentucky Soil and Water Conservation Commission; and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. 2012 KACD State Convention
The 2012 KACD State Convention will be held July 29-31, 2012, at the Marriott in downtown Louisville, Ky. Hotel rooms have been set aside for convention attendees. They can be reserved online here. More information, including an agenda, will be available soon.
2012 Envirothon
The state Envirothon was recently held May 10-11, 2012, at the Lake Cumberland 4-H Education and Leadership Center in Jabez, Ky. Fayette County Team A, the winner of the Kentucky Envirothon, will go on to compete at the Canon Envirothon July 22-28 at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa.

Supervisor's Elections
Supervisor's elections take place every two years, with three supervisors being elected during one election cycle and four supervisors being elected next. In 2012, four supervisor positions will be available in each of Kentucky's 121 conservation districts. In order to serve on the board of supervisors for the conservation district, an individual must be a resident of the district and must file a nominating petition with the county clerk's office. The nominating petition may be obtained from the county clerk's office (current county clerks: http://www.elect.ky.gov/countyclerks.htm). 2012 State Cost Share Sign Ups
